Coventry’s hospitality scene is about to ‘shake up’ a new concept for customers as the city’s first Cocktail Week arrives this summer. The 10-day event will occur from Friday, August 30 to Sunday, September 8.

The event will see some of the city’s top bars and locals’ favourite spots serve up delectable drinks at discounted rates. Some of the venues announced include The Phoenix, Boom Battle Bar, Samoan Joes, The Yard, Slug and Lettuce, The Telegraph Hotel and Mister Shenanigans.

Coventry Cocktail Week has been organised by M.ad Agency, in partnership with Coventry BID. It will aim to drive footfall into the city centre and further emphasise the importance of supporting local businesses.

Around 40 local businesses are expected to be involved, and each venue will offer at least one signature cocktail, plus other discounted options. To take advantage of the deals and discounts throughout the event, visitors must purchase wristbands that are available online from £5 with a £1.50 booking fee, ahead of the official line-up being announced.

Whether you’re into the classic cocktails or looking for something more adventurous, there’s something for everyone during cocktail week, organisers say. Organisers added wristbands that must be worn at participating venues to unlock discounts.

Director of M.ad Agency, Alice Christison, said: “We’ve been organising Cocktail Week events across the UK for the past few years now and we have a great understanding of what festivalgoers are looking to experience.

“We’ve seen a huge increase in economic spending in the key areas we operate during our Cocktail and Eat Week events, and having worked on this project for close to a year, we cannot wait to bring Cocktail Week to Coventry.

“Coventry has a brilliant hospitality scene and there is a lot of opportunity in the city. We’re well connected and are looking forward to showcasing the outstanding food and drink venues that are getting involved in Coventry’s first-ever Cocktail Week. It’s going to be fantastic.”

Coventry BID manager, Joanne Glover, added: “Coventry Cocktail Week is going to be the perfect opportunity for people to get out in the city centre, support our businesses and enjoy their hospitality.

“This is the first time we have hosted a Cocktail Week and we are looking forward to seeing the inventive signature cocktails put forward by the incredible restaurants, bars, pubs and nightclubs in the city. We hope the week will encourage visitors to visit some venues for the first time and discover Coventry’s hidden gems as they make the most of the wristband.”
