Coventry BID is actively collaborating with the Police and Coventry City Council to ensure everyone is well-informed about the laws governing e-bike usage. With the increasing popularity of electric bikes, it’s crucial to educate riders on responsible and legal riding practices.

In light of this initiative, an operation was conducted today in the city centre, resulting in the seizure of one bike that was found to be non-compliant with the regulations.

This effort is part of our preparation for the renewal of a public space protection order (PSPO) for an additional three years. The PSPO aims to address various issues, including street trading, busking, begging, and the recent concern of e-bike riders exceeding speed limits or riding unlawfully.

To ensure clarity and understanding, we have prepared a leaflet that will be distributed to businesses and riders.
