Coventry BID is looking for a Business Engagement Lead to become one of the key faces of our organisation, working closely with businesses across Coventry city centre to help them get the very best from their BID membership.

Business Engagement Lead
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours:
37.5 hours per week
Normal office hours are Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is required, including attendance at evening meetings, city centre events, occasional weekends and Bank Holidays.
Annual Leave
25 days plus Bank Holidays.

Coventry Business Improvement District (Coventry BID) is a business-led, not-for-profit organisation representing hundreds of businesses across Coventry city centre.
Funded by levy-paying businesses, we work in partnership with businesses, Coventry City Council, West Midlands Police and other organisations to create a safer, cleaner and more vibrant city centre.
Our work spans business support, marketing, events, business crime reduction, destination promotion, investment and city centre partnerships.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and highly organised Business Liaison Lead to become one of the key faces of Coventry BID.
Purpose of the Role
The Business Engagement Lead will be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with Coventry BID levy-paying businesses and stakeholders.
The postholder will ensure businesses receive maximum value from their BID investment by providing support, identifying opportunities, encouraging engagement and acting as the link between businesses and Coventry BID services.
The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering the Coventry BID Business Plan whilst supporting preparations for the 2028 Renewal Ballot.
Key Responsibilities
Business Engagement
- Build strong relationships with all Coventry BID levy-paying businesses.
- Carry out regular business visits across the BID area.
- Welcome new businesses and ensure they understand the benefits of Coventry BID.
- Identify business needs and provide practical support or referrals.
- Respond promptly to enquiries from businesses.
- Promote BID initiatives, campaigns, training opportunities and events.
- Encourage businesses to actively participate in BID projects.
- Support business retention and engagement in preparation for the 2028 BID Renewal Ballot.
Relationship Management
- Act as the primary day-to-day contact for Coventry BID businesses.
- Develop trusted relationships with business owners, managers and partners.
- Represent Coventry BID professionally at meetings, networking events and stakeholder forums.
- Maintain positive working relationships with Coventry City Council, West Midlands Police and other partner organisations.
Communications
- Produce content for the weekly business newsletter.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the Coventry BID website.
- Support the delivery of social media content.
- Promote BID campaigns and encourage business participation.
- Ensure businesses are regularly informed about BID activities and opportunities.
CRM & Business Intelligence
- Maintain accurate business records using the BID CRM system.
- Record all business engagement activity.
- Monitor engagement levels and identify businesses requiring additional support.
- Produce reports and statistics to measure engagement and business participation.
- Ensure GDPR compliance in all data management.

Support the delivery of Coventry BID projects including:

- Business Crime Reduction Partnership
- Safety initiatives

- Training programmes
- City centre marketing campaigns
Administration
- Open and secure the BID office when required.
- Attend meetings and prepare notes where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assist with preparing reports for the CEO and Board.
- Support distribution of BID publications and marketing material.
- Assist with general office administration.
General Responsibilities

Contract
This is a fixed-term contract ending at the current Coventry BID Term on 31st March 2028.
Subject to a successful Renewal Ballot October 2027, it is anticipated that the contract will continue into the next BID 5-year term. 2028-2033
