Training opportunities for Coventry BID

Coventry BID has a series of new training opportunities available for our businesses.

Best Bar None

This year, we are excited to introduce our Best Bar None assessment workshops aimed at assisting venues like yours in preparing for your assessment. Our goal is to support you all to achieve the BBN assessment and make Coventry one of the safest cities to enjoy a night out.

First Aid at Work Course

Coventry BID are running a First Aid at Work course on 27th June at the BID offices. The course is £50 per person and there is limited availability. Click here to find out more information.

Door Supervisors Course

In partnership with Mitre, we are running a fully funded Door Supervisors course in July. Do you have staff members that would benefit from security training to help deal with issues in store? This is a great opportunity to get additional training. Click here to find more information.

ACT Training

Coventry BID will be offering ACT Counter Terrorism courses for free at our office – These are the dates that we are offering the face-to-face training:

Thursday 22nd June 2023 – 10am-12pm
Tuesday 19th September 2023 – 10am-12pm
Tuesday 6th December 2023 – 10am-12pm
Tuesday 13th February 2024 – 10am-12pm

WAVE Training

You are invited to attend an online training session for Ask for Angela and WAVE (Welfare & Vulnerability Engagement) training, delivered by the Safer Business Network, on Monday 12th June 2023 at 2:00pm – 4:00pm or Thursday 15th June 2023 at 1:00pm – 3:00pm.  It is strongly recommended that you attend this training and you will be offered the opportunity to access further FREE training in the future for your staff if you attend either of the online events.

The training is a relaunch of Ask for Angela & the WAVE session covers spiking and general safety issues. This training session aims to increase the skills, knowledge and confidence of those working in licensed premises, focusing on identifying vulnerability and making appropriate interventions.

The training should be attended by the Premises Licence Holder, DPS or a member of your management team. There are 50 spaces available per session , so early booking is advised, as places will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
